Welcome to GGAT
Hi to all my good apples, Granny Smyth here I’d just like to welcome you all to the group page and explain why GGAT was set up.
After caring for my own mother who suffered from vascular dementia and finding that caring for someone suffering from a dementia related illness is often difficult and overwhelming at times, I decided to set up the group in memory of my mother so that those LGBTQ members that are currently caring for a loved one can exchange their experiences through dialogue with other group members.
You can post video clips and pictures on the Facebook group page in the hope that others who have already gone through some of the difficulties that surround dementia can offer support and advice on various subjects to make life just that little bit easier to bear in what are sometimes quite stressful circumstances, also giving support to those new members who are just starting on the caring journey.
To sum up Granny would love GGAT to become the go to platform for all LGBTQ members to voice their experiences, concerns and solutions of caring for a loved one suffering from a Dementia related illness. Please join the cause today to create a successful tomorrow.
