A simple blood test that could revolutionise Dementia diagnosis

Here at GGAT we touched on early onset dementia when a while ago we heard from Janice who was looking after her son Michael in the Wirral who had been diagnosed with early onset Dementia in his late 30.s

Music can bring back great memories for patients living with dementia, It has proved to help with self-expression, speech, emotion and it can create interaction with carers and family members that may be slipping away.  In a care home it can help with contact between patients.

Many people are left in a state of shock and confusion due to the lack of care and support after a Dementia diagnosis.

It isn’t easy to care for someone living with Dementia and Granny does speak from experience.

The amount of people suffering with Dementia is staggering

There are approximately 6 million unpaid heroes 2 million of which are not receiving any support for caring for a loved one living with Dementia and approximately 500 thousand of those will be LGBT members of the community.

Xmas can create extreme emotions at the best of time for us all, so caring for a person living with Dementia could quite easily add to those feelings of emotion
