My name is Francesca and I came to England with my parents from Italy in 1946 as a young girl 7 yrs. old after the war, and yes my dad sold ice cream in his cafe, everybody asks me that, I married in 1960 and had 3 children one of which Lucia openly gay is now showing signs of dementia, she has had the same partner for a very long time so I feel confident of her getting good and loving care. She has now got her official diagnosis so now there is just a care package to put in place which I do believe is being organised now.
All her life she was the sweetest child and would do anything for anybody and really all I want to say it’s very sad that it’s happened to one of my daughters but I’m sure it’s also very sad that it happens to anyone, so let’s talk about it and try and find solutions and common ground through discussion which can benefit all sufferers within this group.

So sorry Francesca to hear of your daughter’s diagnosis but I am so pleased you brought up the subject of discussion within the group, this is exactly what I have been advocating for some time, we have to TALK, TALK then Talk some more, which in turn will help others in the group and eventually we all hope will lead to a better understanding of the disease.
